I was privileged to have among my friends in Athens an innovative French artist who chose me to photograph her entire collection.
In 2014, she took part in the first MakerFaire event, at the 104 in Paris. For an event of such scale, she needed a book cataloging all her works; some earlier pieces remained in Athens and could not be transported to Paris for the show.
Together, we worked on the layout and content for her book. For each piece, I translated the original French text to English. One or two photos illustrated each piece.
I designed her event-specific business card, together with labels for all her exhibition pieces. The MakerFaire commissioned the artist to create a large piece to welcome visitors at the main entrance to this ‘first’ in Paris. The second MakerFaire exhibition took place in Paris in 2015. I worked remotely with the artist to update her book adding her latest creations, press coverage etc.
Below are some photos taken inside her Paris atelier in 2015. Her entire Paris stock will soon be winging its way to Crete, where she is setting up a new atelier. Read about her latest works on her dedicated blog.
