In September 2016 a good friend Ezi decided to launch a new business. Her aim was to create a learning environment for the 9-14 year-old age group which is so rarely catered when it coed to holiday activities. Sure there are plenty of summer camps where kids can go canoeing or swing from trees, but finding activities that are both fun and educational creates a real challenge. And so Camp Evolution Ltd came to be. Together with Co-director Shola we've worked on building the camp and its activities. It's been probably the most challenging project I have worked on in a creative capacity both in terms of copy and graphics. I've learned so much about marketing and pushing social media engagement further than I have ever done before. I've learned to use products such as mail-chimp, mail-munch, eventbrite and so and and so forth. But, perhaps the most challenging area was and still is the website. Not being a coder myself I chose a free wordpress theme. I would say that rarely a day goes by without my tweaking something here or there. I've experienced the white screen of death but through use of an FTP I've managed to bing back the site and create a child theme. Hours have been spent in web chat with the support team from ThemeGrill's Spacious guys. Why not check out the site and my content (both in written and graphic form). I'd really appreciate feedback as I still find it hard to be objective. And, so I continue day by day tweaking here and there, redoing, undoing, moving, deleting etc etc etc. For anyone who has created a website I'm sure you'll agree that it's a long process especially when you're a relative novice like myself.
